ABOUT SQUARE ONE SPECIALTIESWith dreams of being a pro surfer, Shawn Hepfner followed his grandfather’s advice, and instead, became a carpenter. We’re all glad he developed his natural talent for carpentry or we wouldn’t know this very reliable, honest general contractor who truly enjoys saying, “Look, we built it here – made in Hawaii – and we did it without being outrageously priced.”
Shawn began his career in construction in 1988, first as a Union 745 Apprentice (today, he is an active member of Carpenters Union Local 745). He earned his Journeyman Certificate and then went to work for builders and construction companies, both large and small, to hone his skills in building homes. Today, he has a building contractor/general contractor license and carries 14 sub-licenses which ensure that he has the ability to build your home from the ground up. With his innate talents and his training, it was only natural for Shawn Hepfner to start his own company – Square One Specialties.
Square One Specialties is a small company which assures you personal service. From remodeling kitchens and bathrooms; and adding home additions to new construction, Shawn and his crew will provide you with fine craftsmanship and structural integrity.
A local company, Square One Specialties is based in Kailua. Shawn Hepfner also lives in Kailua with his wife and children, so you know he will always be available to answer any questions you might have from the beginning of your project to the years following its completion. When he isn’t busy building homes, you’ll probably find him surfing, skateboarding, or taking photos of his two daughters and son. Give him a call.
